Cliff Camping – Unique Holidays

We are starting to plan our first camping trip of the year and we are always looking for something a bit different. We have tried camping, glamping in tipi’s, camping pods and yurts. Finding this new ‘campsite’, fresh air and a sea view in Wales it isn’t quite what you’ll be expecting, unless you were expecting it to be suspended on a portable platform halfway up (or down) a cliff!

If you are not put off by its rather challenging location, a company called Gaia Adventures based in North Wales runs the experiences and prices start from £190.00 PP for three people (maximum number), £500.00 per couple or £450.00 for one person.

Gaia staff have used portaledges all over the world, you are always securely attached, it’s just as safe as abseiling or rock climbing.

Guests will spend the day rock climbing before abseiling down at sunset to a ledge bed hung on the side of a cliff on the North Wales coast.

A hot dinner will be provided and served with a stove hung off the side of the ledge, there will be a full Welsh breakfast the next morning.

If you like to live life on the ledge then maybe this one is for you (sorry for the terrible pun!).

Cliff camping have previously been featured on the BBC news and Daily Mail.
