The National Trust has written an article on the top Autumn walks to lift your spirits.

A study into autumn colour that they carried out as part of a Great British Walk shows that a walk this time of year can make us feel happier, healthier and calmer.

The National Trust with a help of some experts have provided 7 walks selected to see the best Autumn colour.

The Forestry Commission  have produced a useful list for top woodland spots for Autumn colour.

The best walks include:

  1. Westonbirt seasonal trails, The National Arboretum in Gloucestershire
  2. Symonds Yat Rock to Biblins loop walk, The Wye Valley in the Forest of Dean
  3. Radnor waymarked trail, Bolderwood, New Forest, Southampton
  4. Lynford seasonal trail, Lynford Arboretum in Thetford Forest, Norfolk
  5. Church path trail, Salcey Forest in Northampton
  6. Red Walk, Great Wood in Somerset
  7. Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest, Kent
  8. Grizedale Tarn Trail, Grizedale Forest, Cumbria
  9. Blackmore Trail, Delamere Forest, Cheshire
  10. White Horse Trail, Friston Forest, East Sussex

Delamere is an ideal place to go for a walk, whether you’re looking for an easy going trail for all abilities, a hike to admire the view or a bit of peace and quiet to observe the wildlife.

Delemere Forest is in the midst of the agricultural landscape of the Cheshire Plain, Delamere, Cheshire, CW8 2JD.  Situated approximately 10 miles from the outskirts of Chester and close to the M56. The forest park is well sign -posted from the A54, A556 and B5152.
