More UK winter walking links

Winter is the perfect time to throw on some boots, wrap up warm and head out for an invigorating walk. Blow away the cobwebs along blustery coastal paths, or take a frosty path by a river. Get away from the stress and excess of festive season and reconnect to nature. It might be cold outside, but there are still plenty of reasons to head out for a wintery stroll – the frosty grass crunch under your wellies, seeing low-lying mists sweeping along the ground, or just a gentle walk through historic gardens.

There’s no better way to shrug off the winter blues than to wrap up warm and escaping outside for a frosty walk. The trails are often quieter in winter too, so why not pull on your walking boots and head out to explore in the crisp fresh air? We posted earlier about the Guardian’s of the best winter walks but there are plenty of other recomendations for where to go to blow away the post-Christmas cobwebs on a bracing walk.
