Murciano safari tent, set in the heart of the rolling Dorset Hills, is a fantastic environmentally friendly glamping experience that, with its expansive and luxurious living space and breath-taking views, is the perfect place for a family adventure.
What’s in a name? Murciano is one of three fabulous safari tents, each named after a fine breed of pig – in this case, from Spain. The dining area boasts a large Spanish dining table, perfect for long leisurely meals, which gives a nod to Murciano’s heritage, while the bespoke fitted kitchen, built with care by a local craftsman, has everything you need to rustle up a gourmet feast using some of the fabulous local produce. The wood-fired oven is supplemented by a gas hob and there’s even a fridge-freezer so you needn’t worry about not having enough ice for a G&T. The spacious living area continues the Spanish influence, with touches to be found in fabrics and furnishings, and is kitted out with comfortable leather sofas that just cry out to be curled up on. When the evenings are a little chilly, they are the perfect spot to cosy up on in front of the wood burning stove. In the warm and balmy summer months, the canvas can be opened to provide seamless access to the extensive deck which is the perfect place for a sun downer or alfresco dining. It’s also the perfect spot to relax and watch as the younger members of the party explore their surroundings. After a long day of adventure, there is no better place to snuggle down to sleep – Murciano has a king-size bed, twin room and a ‘cabin’ double bed for the little adventurers of the family. Incorporated into the tent is a fully fitted bathroom with a shower and basin, as well as a separate WC.
There is hot water throughout and electric lighting in the living space and bathroom. The bedrooms are lit by battery powered lanterns and there are some USB ports for those that need to charge a phone.
Murciano prides itself on being environmentally friendly and the site has been a finalist for awards such as The Dorset Environmental Award and BV Dairy Investing in Dorset Award. There is a flower farm, an Italian inspired cafe and shop also to enjoy at the farm.
For a large get together Murciano can be booked with Gascon and Mukota.

Two dogs are accepted at the site for a small additional charge.
There are hampers available, as well as cooked meals which can be arranged on booking.
A cot and highchair are available on request
There is no wifi, but 4G is good on site. Wifi can be arranged upon request in an office space for those who need to work.
