The Old Press is charming glamping lodge for two, with wooden floors, stunning tiles and exposed beams throughout. There’s plenty of character and light in this lovely space. Every corner has been meticulously designed for your comfort. You’ll feel instantly refreshed as soon as you enter The Old Press, set in a serene rural Suffolk location for those who appreciate the tranquil surroundings, with the only distractions being the sights and sounds of nature.

The entrance leads directly into the snug, in the main room, a fully-equipped kitchen with a pretty tiled floor is off to your right. You can prepare breakfast and a Nespresso coffee or tea on the stovetop and relax on the sofa in the spacious open-plan room. Leave the french doors open during summer to enjoy sunshine and birdsong, or cosy up beside the Apple Stack wood burning stove in the cooler months. A small dining area means you can enjoy breakfast indoors or out on the patio.

The open sitting room comprises a comfortable two seater with Roberts radio and a selection of books so you can while away the afternoon. Directly beyond is a large, luxurious super-king sized bed. This picture-perfect space includes oak sliding doors leading to the freestanding roll top bath with a stylish feature wall and separate hidden walk-in shower.

Outside, you have access to your own sun patio garden, with personal wood-fired hot tub to enjoy soaking under the stars or basking in the sun cooking in the open air on the firepit BBQ.

The Firs is a collection of luxuriously renovated lodges and glamping tents set in four acres of beautiful grounds. Each lodge has been furnished with their own individual style, open sun decks and garden spaces and personal wood-fired hot tub. This is the idyllic choice for romantic breaks, or larger groups wishing to stay separately.

The site is in a dark skies area of Suffolk – light pollution is extremely low, which makes for special times surveying the skies from your private soaking tub, beside your firepit or gazing up from your bed through the skylight above, counting the shooting stars.

No matter the season, there’s a wealth of open space and fresh air available in the picturesque grounds and meadows. This is a great choice for couples getaways, family reunions, and friends gathering for celebrations. We wholeheartedly recommend this property for those seeking restoration, quiet, and wildlife. The lodges provide everything you need to get away from it all. The positive decision to not have televisions, but to instead provide free Wi-fi throughout, enables guests to be connected should they choose within beautiful, natural surroundings.

Beyond your lodge, there’s an on-site sauna at The Piggery Spa, available for private two hour hire, for a small additional charge. The spa facilities include sauna, external hot shower and plunge bucket, inside showering and changing facilities, relaxation area, tea making facilities and filtered water. Plastic glasses are provided.

You can hire bicycles, wander in the woods, play boules on the petanque pitch, relax by the pond, seasonally alive with damselflies, dragonflies and butterflies or borrow a map and set out to explore the fields and footpaths nearby. There’s a gorgeous rustic fairy-lit space for outdoor dining with a large wood-fired pizza oven, huge firepit BBQ with an asado, outdoor kitchen, fridge and freezer, and enough tables and chairs to accommodate all guests. The site also benefits from a shared utility area called The Boot Room, with washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave.

The Firs is situated close to the nearby towns of Halesworth, Harleston, Framlingham, Southwold and Aldeburgh with so much more to do, see and experience. See our ‘Location’ information for more details on lovely hidden gems to eat, drink and explore.

Additional Information:
The Firs team will contact confirmed guests by email to arrange some finer details, including optional extras (for a small additional charge): choose from pre-lit hot tubs so you can jump straight in on arrival!, pizza oven hire, local sourdough pizza dough, sauna time in The Piggery Spa, and cycle hire (bring your own helmet).
